August 05, 2024 – Hofheim am Taunus – Keestash is constantly, reliably and securely growing in its feature set. Many features were added and improved until due date. Today, we want to introduce a new way to share passwords: Public Share with Keestash.
Public Share is a simple but powerful way to share passwords with teams, co-workers or others. Public Share generates a link that is accessible by anyone using a browser and being able to access the Keestash instance. A long hash attached to the link makes sure that guessing is almost impossible.
Passwords shared with the Public Share feature do expire after a given amount of time – the default is 3 days. Users can define the amount of days individually per password or folder.
Disclaimer: while passwords shared using this feature are safe from guessing or brute forcing, users should be aware about that everyone having access to the link is able to see the password. Users are asked to use the feature or the links with the necessary caution.
Future Features for Public Share are Share Limitations such as based on IP- or Geo-Location, copy prevention, password protection and much more. Please check our blog for new announcements and the official Keestash Documentation.
